ABOUT CRTGAME
The home of real retro gaming on authentic CRT hardware
Welcome to crtgame.com
Your dedicated home for everything related to real retro gaming on authentic CRT hardware.
My name is cyberghost47, and I'm a passionate retro gamer from South Africa who fell in love with CRTs all over again in 2024. After years of playing on modern displays and feeling like something was missing, I went on a mission to hunt down real CRT televisions and rediscover the magic that made 8-bit, 16-bit, and 32-bit games feel so special.
That personal journey turned into this website.
Why I Started crtgame.com
Modern TVs are impressive on paper, but they simply don't replicate the experience of playing on original hardware. The deep blacks, natural motion clarity, perfect scanlines, vibrant colours, and zero input lag of a good CRT bring games back to life exactly as they were meant to be played.
After buying, testing, calibrating, and modding multiple CRTs myself, I realised there wasn't a clear, practical resource focused purely on helping people get the best possible retro gaming experience on real CRTs in 2026.
So I created crtgame.com.

My Philosophy
Any CRT is a good CRT.
Perfection isn't the goal โ fun is. Whether you have a cheap 20-inch consumer TV or a rare PVM, the most important thing is getting it properly set up and calibrated.
I believe retro gaming should be accessible, enjoyable, and affordable. That's why I focus on practical advice, local pickup tips, and realistic recommendations instead of chasing rare $800 arcade monitors.
